Privacy Policy

Last updated 4 September 2026

This policy covers the personal relationship-memory app published by Zehner, LLC, currently in private testing and referred to here as “the app.”

The short version. Your notes are yours, and they are largely about other people — their names, how you know them, and what you want to remember. They are stored so the app can show them back to you on your devices, and sent to Anthropic's API so the app can turn what you type into structured notes. They are never sold and never used for advertising, and the providers who process them are contractually barred from training models on them. You can export everything, and you can delete everything — including your account — from inside the app.

What the app stores

The app stores only what you put into it:

The app does not use analytics or advertising SDKs, does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not collect your location, photos, or device identifiers. It never reads your device’s address book.

Information about other people

This deserves saying plainly, because it is the unusual part of an app like this: the notes you write are largely about other people, and those people have not agreed to anything.

The app never contacts them, never builds profiles beyond what you personally write, and never imports your address book, social accounts, or any outside source. Everything in it is there because you typed or dictated it. You are responsible for what you choose to record, and we would encourage you to write only what you would be comfortable having written down.

Who your notes are shared with

Two service providers process data so the app can work. Neither is given your data for their own purposes:

Your notes are not sold, rented, or shared with anyone else. There is no advertising in the app and no data broker relationship of any kind.

Voice

If you dictate a note, transcription uses Apple's speech recognition. Where your device supports it, this happens entirely on the iPhone. Otherwise the audio is processed by Apple in order to transcribe it, under Apple's own privacy terms. The resulting text is then handled exactly like anything you type.

Private people

You can mark any person as private. They are then hidden from every list in the app until you unlock them with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode, and they are deliberately excluded from notifications so a name can't appear on your lock screen. This is a privacy control on your own device — people marked private are stored the same way as everyone else.

Your control over your data

Retention

Your notes are kept for as long as your account exists, because the whole purpose of the app is to remember things for you. When you delete your account, your login and your notes are deleted. Routine infrastructure backups held by our hosting provider may persist for a short period before rotating out.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Access to your notes is restricted at the database level so that only your own account can read them. The copy the app keeps on your device for offline use is stored with iOS file protection, so it is encrypted while your phone is locked.

No system is perfectly secure, and we won't claim otherwise.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that materially affects how your information is handled, the date at the top will change and the update will be described in the app's release notes.
